I grow them in pots so I leave them to die down then have a look to see if any are still big enough to flower the next year but invariably they are just tiny rice grain size and I don't have patience to grow them on for a few years so just buy new ones in Autumn.
@richard.spicer.7906 Just saw your comment on dwarf iris bulblets. Mine have been flowering every other year so not a long wait for bulblets to come to flower. But @Jasonsparkes1 has been getting less and less iris flowers every year. I think they're a bit temperamental so it's best to get a new stock every year (but keep old ones to see if they re-flower in your garden).
Iris danfordiae beginning to open in sun today. #iris
Lovely! Hoping to get some of these in the autumn as bulbs for planting #iris-danfordiae
Hi @richard.spicer.7906 the problem is they split into tiny little bulbs after flowering so I will have to buy more next year myself.
Yes, I've read about this too. Do you try to grow them on separately perhaps? I guess they would take a few years to get back to flowering size.
