Dug up all my Canna yesterday to over winter in pots in the greenhouse. Couldn’t bear to cut these 2 back yet as still wanting to bloom! Another week or so then they can join the rest 😄

The orange are now blooming too 🧡🧡🧡

These are now all out and planted too. Made 6 plants when I dug them up last year through #division I now have 3 #red and 3 #orange 😁

Snap! I did exactly the same. Mine have always been in a pot. Multiplied over the years and this year I had 4. So time to plant directly into the border

Divided my #canna when I lifted them last year. All doing well, now have 4 of each 😍😁

Dug up these 2 beauties today. All divided so. Now have 7 if they all make it! I'll be giving some away as I want a few other varieties to add for next year. So anyone fancy swaps next year let me know. Mine are now tucked up in the greenhouse with the baby nanas! 😁

Has anyone had any success in growing #canna from seed? Thinking of giving it a go 🤔

My grandpa had in his home. But it will take time. If you'd a big space then it is fine for this Lily.

I've got 2 of these in my tropical bed but as they got great seed heads, I thought I'd give it a go. I know they'll take time. Managed to grow Iris from seed so worth a shot I guess 😁 @jyotu

I'm gonna to plant red and yellow ones when my home's construction finished. This year i planted a stargazer. @hayleyaj

Lovely. Be careful with Stargazer if you have pets, as its pollen is very toxic to dogs and cats. I have an orange and a red Tropicana Canna, I love the variegated leaves on them too. Very Banana like 😁 @jyotu

I grew some cannas from seed this year, you need to scratch the seeds to reveal the white part underneath then soak them for a couple of days, they took about two weeks to come up.

All mine are grown from rhizomes, but as I now have seeds, I thought I'd give it a go as I love seeing what I can produce from scratch. I agree, Stargazer scent is intoxicating and gorgeous 😁 @jyotu

Mine finally keeled over in last night’s hard frost. I think the first flowers were in March. Great plants.

Mine is still outside covered top of pot though with slate to protect it, not sure it will go in summerhouse as about same as yours in height 😂

I brought it in as it had just got the buds on and we had those high winds and rain and I wanted to get the benefit of the flower before it was ruined @Keely I'll cut it back a bit like my banana once it's finished flowering

Mine has a bud on but don't think it will open and no sun in summerhouse roof needs a velux to peek out of 😂

I am! As I bought a red and and orange one for my tropical area, both shooting! Never had them before. Both have black or dark variegated leaves too so can't wait Julie!!👏👏👏 @vec
