Just moved to Canada from the UK and I have developed a new interest in plants, especially succulents!

Help, I need advice on how to help my succulent. The leaves are caving in. Is it root rot? I water once a week, it's in cactus soil with rocks at the bottom and a drainage hole in the pot. Please any advice would be awesome. Is it burnt? Can it be rescued. Questions questions! 😄@alovealoe

Do you keep it inside or outdoors? Stop watering for now and wait till the soil is bone dry before watering again. The new growth looks fine. It's normal for the lower, older leaves to wither away and fall off. Also, avoid getting water on the leaves when you do water, but don't water again until the soil is dry, whether that be one week, ten days, two weeks,

Etc, etc. Also, the top dressing keeps your soil wetter for longer. Something to keep in mind.

@alovealoe it's indoor but as its been so sunny out I've been putting it outside during the day. I was considering removing the top stones... I might go and do that now. I only repotted it recently and started putting it out in the sun when I noticed the leaves not looking great. I'll stop watering and give it time to dry. Thanks so much for your help, I really appreciate your input

The moving indoors and outdoors frequently is not good for the plant. They like to stay put in one place. As long as it doesn't go below 40 F at night, you can leave them outdoors. Good luck!

Thanks very much @succulentandfriends and @alovealoe he's going to have a drying off period and will live outside on my decking. Let's see how he gets on!
