So I'm attempting to #propagate a very long stemmed #tiplant I was scared to chop it but I just went for it. #fingerscrossed
I've been waffeling with that same decision, haven't chopped mine yet. Did you put the top growth in there too?
Yes I did. It only had a couple weak leaves so well see what happens. I may move them once they take and root @lesliecole49
I have a couple that really suffered over the winter, long sticks, puny looking leaves. I've tried it with the dracaena/cornflakes before and not had good luck, so it makes me nervous, lol. I wonder if you can water root them? I'll have to look that up, I seem to have better luck in water
This was the first one I found and I quote, "Fortunately, Ti plants are easily propagated and rooted up in water using stem and tip cuttings. You can also air layer the stems, or root up the cane cuttings directly in lightly damp soil, but you'll get a week or two jump start by using the water method."
Yeah I usually do everything in water tbh but I have been seeing so much about how water rooting is bad and stuff that I just wanted to try it this way for a change. I should maybe put one stick in water just to be safe. Well see @lesliecole49
Good luck

I put this under a grow light and I love how rich the color is now. It was so pale from lack of light and the leaves looked terrible #hawaiiantiplant #tiplant
