Commelina Communis

Help identify this plant. A type of jew plant that grows wild where I live in north central AR. It is, no matter where you find it here, ravaged by insects, making it fairly unsightly. However the plant never seems to care, always growing and blooming robustly. I’m starting a pot of it after admiring it for years in the yard and would love it’s true name. I call it ‘Mickey Mouse Blues’ Jew. Blue is too sought after of a color to ignore this abundant natural treasure. #plant-id #jew #blue #wild

Maybe it’s a commelina/day flower of some sort. Looks a little like one I grow, commelina dianthifolia. It’s a beautiful colour 💙

@kez001uk It’s for sure similar flower wise, but the leaves/stem are nowhere close. I’ll try to get a pic that shows it’s leaves/stem better in a bit, it’s kinda hard to see in all the grass. I’ll look into the family of your plant though, maybe it shares a classification somewhere. ^_^ And thank you by the way. ✨
