Finally got round to sowing sweet peas meant to do this back in November! Sterilin tubes instead of roots trainers as well 🙈 somethings never go to plan 😂

How will you get them out?

@trees.p I'm hoping they will root well enough I'll be able to gently pull the whole lot out failing that a skewer will be poked about in there gently to loosed the soil and then carefully pulled out!

@Hellebore good luck! I've used Rose or Clematis pots before with several in each. Pinched them out to make bushier then planted straight out when ready without needing to repot.

@trees.p absolutely no pinching out! Also root trainers are best for sweet peas.

Really? Why not?

These are Spencer type pinch out tip after two sets of leaves allow one side shoot to be the main stem and I shall be every few days pinching out tendrils and any side shoots. I want tall straight plants that will give long tall flower stems otherwise no good for showing. Will air layer them as well just hoping my tardiness time wise will not have hindered me too much - joys of have a baby well toddler now, never have as much time for gardening as I used to😄
