#rose #rose-camaieux #noflowersleft Some critter is tearing up my new rose bush every night. It has torn off all the blooms and buds. Only foliage left which is full of holes from another culprit. I guess it likes the colour red. 🙁

We don’t have deer here Terri but we may set up our camera. I suspect it is squirrels but we have seen raccoons in our yard. 😩 @terrimclaughlin

It really annoys me when this happens. They just come through and tear plants apart. Will be setting up our camera to see if we can identify the culprit. 👀 @charlotte @debs69 @emch

On the one hand wildlife is amazing and we encourage them into the garden. But on the other hand it is frustrating when they do damage.

Oh no! Roses here are prone to damage by leafcutter ants, but they travel with their bite-sized pieces.

Last year we relocated a few squirrels who were quite destructive in the garden. We have a resident chipmunk who thinks he owns the house. He chews his way under the garage door and makes himself at home. We tried a live trap but he gets the peanuts and manages to escape 😩 I am certain he has tunnels all over the front garden. @charlotte @columbiariver @novicegardenlover

I'm sure there's a repellent out there that will work, @hkyfvr -- a sprinkle of dried deer's blood, for instance

I was thinking of trying bloodmeal or cayenne pepper. 🤔 @emch

Thanks so much. It was stressful. We had winds stronger than I have ever seen in this area. We lost limbs on our maple and fir trees. Our power was out for 12 hours. Some plants in the garden were flattened. I am so glad we put our containers in the garage. We are safe and grateful it was not worse. 🙏😄 @lifeonaroofterrace
