We also tried fabric softener and water whic is supposed to attract them and they drown. My daughter says they are starting to disappear at her place so maybe their season is coming to an end. Going to a campground with my daughter and her girls this week. Getting away from the beetles. Have to do a bandage change myself. Luckily they sent me with a bag of supplies. It is really healing well now. Still will take a while though. 👍😁 @gjones

They are horrible Katy. They decimate the leaves of my roses also any variegated leaves. They sawed holes in my pretty variegated maple tree and I found them eating my dappled willow leaves today. They also like dahlias and some flowers. There are thousands of these things around. We got a trap and there were probably over a hundred in it. You can use soapy water or water with fabric softener to attract them. 🙁 @gjones

The insecticidal soap is not working for me either. It just makes my plant leaves spotted brown. Frustrating all the pests this year. So many gypsy moth caterpillars ate our maple leaves.
