Hello I live in Texas and I'm learning how to garden in the last 3 years. So I'm still a beginner and will ask lots of questions

I have some questions. What new life did you see? Does it lose all its foliage in the winter? Do you bring it in? What hardiness zone are you in?

It's a outside plant and on the 5 days a year it's freezes here in Texas. One day I was in hurry and just dragged her inside garage the next day all her leaves fell off and got brown. She was in there day and a half my bf works on cars I didn't realize the fumes would affect so fast. She's got deprived of oxygen so I'm not sure of what you call it maybe "plant brain damaged" we will see. New life spotted this past week so we will see. @BobWallace

I see. Well depending where you are in Texas, you’ll be better served to bring it inside. There are 3 different hardiness zones in Texas. Zone 9 would be warm enough to leave it outside but still lose some foliage... or all in your case. The leaves can grow back relatively quickly. They store so much energy in their trunk and branches.
