Here is a photo of the fruit on my purple guava tree. Is a a rare fruit tree from brazil that produces amazing guavas. The tree was labeled thai guava, as it probably was grown there. This is the 1st year it produces in abudance. Very sweet fruit. The fruit can get as large as a peach! They look like a cross between pomegranate and fig, didn’t expect a guava to look like that 😜 bet it tastes heavenly though 😋

Interesting shape and color. Is it ready to eat? They have guava chiffon cake in a bakery in Hawaii. They taste heavenly.

@kez001uk it kind of tastes like a green guava and a fig combined lol i love them, this is my 1st real harvest haha, 9 long years. Every year has given less then 5 fruit, this year maybe 60

@lilymel yes this is its ripe color/size . They start out a purple green and go to this color. I think they can get larger but my tree is young. Never had it but i love guavas and cake 😛 will have to look out for it

@honestgreensco 9 years??? That’s some patience you have! But sounds well worth it, quite a haul in one season 😋

@kez001uk haha yes trees are like children, you have to make sure they grow up right, but once they do, they will outlive you and keep helping earth. Goal of mine is to plant a million trees before i die. Probably at 1-2% right now lol(10-20k). Yes we are very excited about its harvest 😛 the first fruit came like a week ahead of everything else it looks like so it was such a tease lmao
