This clearly shows how lilac flowers on old wood. Left hand side hasn’t been pruned since we moved in 4years who (and probably not for 10 years prior); right hand side pruned 3 years ago. Will need to cut more of the old side to rebalance the shape - after flowers are gone, of course. #lilac #purple #plantsofthe1930s
