Does that onion look ready ? Is it meant to push its head out of the earth or what !?!
Onions do push out of the earth in fact many people only plant them halfway in. Looks like it may grow a bit more yet @IlsonRootsProject

I'm pretty sure the leaves fall over then they are ready to pick
My dad always told me to wait until the leave fall before removing from the ground...hope this helps
@Andreamarie Thanks. I will try that next year. Sounds possible. Although tbh this year we had major flooding where I planted those and they may not even have been there afterwards had they not been very firmly planted!?!
Have got a couple with leaves fallen already so I will lift them and see Thanks guys
They will grow bigger, but i believe you wait till the foliage/leaves sag a bit then lift and cut off stem and store in sand
