@demeterstouch can you please let me know why my pitchers are turning brown??? What should I plant it in peet moss ?peat gravel??? #carnivorous-tip #new-addetion
Pitchers naturally die just as leaves do. When they are acclimating it's also common for them to dry up. Usually nothing to worry about!! @indianprincess36 ♥️🌱🤞
@indianprincess36 I purchased a guide from Sarracenia Northwest which helped me a lot with my carnivorous plants. Like @demeterstouch mentioned, don't get concerned if the pitchers die off. Once half the pitcher would be brown, I usually cut the pitcher off so the plant could focus on healthy areas. I mist mine once a week or so to keep it a bit humid without risking root rot (they don't like to sit in water) and that seemed to help a lot. That and a sunny window.
@indianprincess36 Good luck! They get a bit traumatized and lose their pitchers when they're repotted or moved to a different environment. But just keep treating it like a normal pitcher plant and eventually, they should grow back. It took one of mine almost five months to grow the pitchers back after I repotted it!
Can anyone tell me why my #pitcher-plant are turning brown like this?
