Not being a fan of buddleia I shopped this one to the ground, but there it is falling all over the place and smashing all the plants around 😀 must admit that is an amazing vibrant colour but still not convinced with the structure of it
Yes, know what you mean. ...falling all over the place. ..I accidentally acquired one (bought it from morris ons last year and it's tag said it was an aster.....but I will prune it extensively in the autumn and hope that next year it will be bushier and not so sprawling....and the butterflies love it!
@rachelbrooks @belindah yes I suppose that if you have the space for them they are amazing, but for a small to medium garden they are not the best choice, this one was already here when a move and I did try to take it out but the rooting system is powerful
This one goes to 2,50 meters, and that's the new shots from the base, it's in the shady area of the garden and just in the meddle, sorry there's no hope 😀
I'm with you on that one mine are taking over my beds and they are only 2 years old. Will replace them in the spring. Now just have to find something with similar light/yellow green folliage that fits a mediterranean style garden @inlove

That is the trouble with buddleja. I have seen them pruned into standards before - that looked effective 👍🏼 @inlove

Just try to shape it like a tree. It should save some space.
@lilium it was a tree before 😂 I just don't have the space unfortunately it needs to go somewhere else
Dont be like that! Small gardens whith no space to step are so charming and have a natural look. So i vote not to do that!
#buddleia
@Jasonsparkes1 I could do with the dwarf ones 😀 this one just grow to much and is in the meddle of the bed.

@londongardener a garden is made with choices, I'm always moving things around 😀
