Multi-stemmed #standard #photinia #evergreen #red
One of the best shaped photinias I have seen. How long has it taken to get it like that? It's fantastic 👌
Thanks so much Craig. I only cut away the lower branches and leaves and shaped it last month. Before that it was a typical shrub with branches right down to the ground. I think thereās a photo of what it originally looked like in my garden feed on 13th June this year, when I did a ābefore and afterā photo. The plant is probably about 10 years old? 😊 @craigh7
Ten years? Waow! Ours is about 3-4 years and my wife wants to be bushy opposed to tall and standard-like. This might just change her mind!! 😁
It was other lovely GT folk on here that gave me the encouragement and confidence to do it. So glad I did as I have been able to underplant for the first time, which means more lovely plants! 🌿🌸🌱🌼 @craigh7
That looks really great . I'm not a lover of Red Robbin , but I love this one ! 😊
Aww thank you Debra! Thatās really lovely of you to say so 😊 @london148

It looks lovely
Thanks Jayne, canāt get over how vibrant the leaves are 🍁 @jaynehynesburton
That little corner is making quite a statement now, Angela ā„ļø💚😍
Fabulous fiery red 🔥🔥
Thank you Barbara. So glad I took everyoneās advice. It has certainly made a big difference. The border still has to fill out but itās getting there slowly 😊 @jacaranda
It really was glowing fiery red. It certainly wasnāt going to be overlooked this evening Rula 😊@sabbanrula

Phase 1 of shady corner project. Finally plucked up the courage. Photinia canopy raised ready for under planting #photinia #shady
Looks great
Job well done there 👍
Great job will give all your new plants a lot more light to thrive 😊
Spot on 👍🏼😉
Thank you...I finally plucked up the courage to go for it after all the encouragement & advice. Would never have done it without everyoneās help. So big thank you! @jacaranda @sieveheadsarah @ublaszko @jaynehynesburton @Keely @debs69 @suerichards @Cazx @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom
That looks so much better! You really wonāt regret doing it, Angela, and youāll have such fun with under planting 😍
Thank you Barbara. Iām really pleased with it and can see the potential now for under planting. It has really lightened up the area 😊 @jacaranda
It looks fabulous Angela, well done for plucking up the courage to do it, I bet youāre pleased with how it looks now 😍😀👍🏼
Sometimes it's the scariest, riskiest moves that are all so well worth it! I bet now you look at it and think, "sheesh what took me so long?" lol Looks fab!
Thank you...yes, Iām really pleased with how itās turned out Sarah. I just needed the knowledge of experienced folk such as yourself to give me a push in the right direction āŗļø @sieveheadsarah
You are so right Jackie! I started off lifting the lawn around it, stood back and thought āOh for goodness sake...just get on and do itā. So glad I did āŗļø āļø @jmlincoln

Hereās a closer photo of the Red Robin as it is now.... #projectaj1
It doesn't look too bad you could STRIM down left hand side if it bugs you though 😊
Hi Angela! Iām a devil for raising the crown of my shrubs as Iām always taking off a few more lower branches to give a better planting area underneath! Your photinia looks very good now and I think youāve done a great job so Iād leave it as it is but just cast a critical eye over it every couple of weeks. Youāll probably end up snipping off a bit more here and there until youāre happy, but donāt be afraid to be more ruthless if the mood takes you! ā„ļø💚
Thank you Barbara. Yes I do want to enlarge the border and underplant. The whole corner is very sad at the moment. Really appreciate your feedback, thank you 😊 @jacaranda
James this is Angelaās Red Robin that she removed the lower stems from last year, if you swipe left youāll see how it is now 😀👍🏼 @jamesdep
@sieveheadsarah thank you I get what you mean now. It looks great on this. Iāll enjoy it this year and then decide wether to or not for next. :-)
A little more #red #ajapril #spring #photinia
Maybe in 10yrs or so mine might look like this 😂 Proving to be a very slow grower
Good job as gardeners we understand the need for patience Jason 😉 @hebelover
Patience?? What's that?? 😂
