One of the best shaped photinias I have seen. How long has it taken to get it like that? It's fantastic 👌

Thanks so much Craig. I only cut away the lower branches and leaves and shaped it last month. Before that it was a typical shrub with branches right down to the ground. I think there’s a photo of what it originally looked like in my garden feed on 13th June this year, when I did a ā€˜before and after’ photo. The plant is probably about 10 years old? 😊 @craigh7

Ten years? Waow! Ours is about 3-4 years and my wife wants to be bushy opposed to tall and standard-like. This might just change her mind!! 😁

It was other lovely GT folk on here that gave me the encouragement and confidence to do it. So glad I did as I have been able to underplant for the first time, which means more lovely plants! 🌿🌸🌱🌼 @craigh7

Hi Angela! I’m a devil for raising the crown of my shrubs as I’m always taking off a few more lower branches to give a better planting area underneath! Your photinia looks very good now and I think you’ve done a great job so I’d leave it as it is but just cast a critical eye over it every couple of weeks. You’ll probably end up snipping off a bit more here and there until you’re happy, but don’t be afraid to be more ruthless if the mood takes you! ā™„ļø💚
