@richard.spicer.7906 my husband and I are both American Iris Society master judges. We grow mostly all classes, but love the beardless and species. I’ll be posting lots of photos in the spring. Also, thank you for your kind words!
Oh wonderful! 😄 you must get to see so many pretty iris then. I do like the bearded and sibirica types, as well as reticulata although the latter is the dominant one in my garden at the moment. Looking forward to seeing all your spring photos.
@richard.spicer.7906 I especially love the reticulatas coming out of Canada by Alan Mcmurtrie. Such wonderful, new combinations of colors. Where I am, outside of Louisville, KY, most of our reticulatas last only one season. But I love them so-one of the first flowers to bloom here saying “Spring is here, goodbye winter”. Happy Gardening, my friend!
They are wonderful aren’t they - I met Alan briefly last year at a spring show in London, such a passionate man and he was telling me all about the new cultivars he is hoping to introduce to the UK market in the next 5-10 years. Interesting to hear you have the same issue as me and I’m definitely struggling to get many to last longer than a year, thinking I might have to resort to new bulbs but I’m trialling growing on some of the bulblets to see what results I get. Happy gardening too!
The variety is ‘Neptune’s Gold’
Beautiful! @cyndi look at this!
