Watermelon (Citrullus lanatus var. lanatus, familyCucurbitaceae) is a vine-like (scrambler and trailer) flowering plant originally from southern Africa. It is a large, sprawlingannual plant with coarse, hairy pinnately-lobed leaves and white to yellow flowers. It is grown for its large edible fruit, also known as a watermelon, which is a special kind of berrywith a hard rind and no internal division, botanically called apepo. The fruit has a smooth hard rind—usually green with dark green stripes
@usgardentags Thanks to seeds discarded in organic kitchen waste, my friend will soon be able to harvest some lovely water melons.

It was found in the same bed with the garlic seedling. #gardensurprise.
Awesome Jason. I feed my horses watermelons. They poop out the seeds, and literally grow their own melons in their pastures. So cool😄😂🐎💩🍉
@SikoMa this speaks volumes to the tenacity of the seeds.I hear that horse maure is very rich so those melons should be of superior quality.
It really does speak volumes about the seeds. Even I can grow watermelons. Lol😉
@SikoMa @Jason woahhhh!!! I learn so much crazy stuff with you guys!!! Fantastic!
Lol @josy , I learned this one by accident. I tripped over them in the pasture. But I have learned SO much from all the people on GT. 😍🤗
