Help me identify this plant, it grows in our backyard like a weed here in Pueblo Colorado. "Top twenty sunniest cities in the nation." They turn into large trees. We keep taking them down but I'm wondering what their benefit is? Whether it's medicinal or can be used in cooking, it has a pungent garlic smell when mid stage in growth. Andy says they call seem' paradise trees or something to that effect.

It looks like Tree-of-heaven (Ailanthus altissima). Pretty but can be an invasive pest!
