#companionplanting Amaranth – Plant with corn to shade the soil and retain water. Attracts predatory ground beetles
#amaranth #seedling 💕 3 weeks old @niching it's so interesting to see the difference in colors on the leaves of the seedling varieties!
I haven't even started outside!!! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ @cyndi
I am losing one of two a day, which is not bad considering... It sucks to get them so far, and then they keel over for no reason. I am hoping I can do your strategy in the fall with sowing direct. @cyndi
This amaranth variety can get pretty tall and the leaves get darker as they age. I think my shortest was 3’ and tallest was 5-6’. Good backdrop in the herb and butterfly 🦋 garden. Add the young leaves to your salad. If you let it go to seeds, you can probably have enough to grow sprouts. I have set to get into that but it’s on my to do list.
Good info Dom! @niching Thank you!! ❤️
