#seedsaving #pineapplesage #seeds Normally two to four per pod, I just tip the branch into a cup and pinch the end and they fall right out. Probably one of the easiest plants to save seeds for next year. 😉
@jennlamaye: It's just that easy huh. 🤗❤️🦋
For this one, yes. Lol @joy4todd Waiting for peony seeds on the other hand.... horrible.

Most salvia seed need light to germinate. If you’re starting seeds indoors, moisten seed starting mix, then sprinkle seeds on top of the mix. Gently press them to make contact between moist mix and seed. Most gardeners cover their seeds with some type of plastic dome or sheeting to retain moisture and improve germination.
By our calculations*, you should look at sowing Pineapple sage about 84 days before your last frost date .
Pineapple sage enhances the natural flavors in strawberries, while building their natural resistance to disease and insects. Plant sage around you strawberry bed, or add a plant or too to your strawberry planters to improve flavor. #companionplanting
@llamadrama see notes above. Pineapple sage
You're the best girl! I've been meaning to get this one @jennlamaye
@llamadrama I love this one! It seeded profusely, and was the hummingbirds favorite!
@Madgardener70 just squish the dry seed pods over a cup and the seeds fall out.

@jennlamaye. How big does this plant get?
@kimguy it only gets about 12-18 inches tall and wide (so far) in my garden. They like being trimmed after flowering and I score all the seeds. 😉
@kimguy I was just reading that this plant is normally 3-5ft tall as well as wide. I guess I've had to plant late or having it in a container stunted its growth.
@Madgardener70 this is what they look like. The flowers drop off and they get "crunchy".

Pretty, mine didn't come back this year. We had a harsh winter
Love the scent
@momasherri I wish they'd come back, but I seriously doubt it. I'll have to check the scent tomorrow... I'd never noticed.
Brush the leaves for the scent
It is possible they will come back. I'm in zone 8-7

I can't remember what this plant is, but I lucked out with lots more #seeds for next year! #jennseedtrade #PlantID
Oooo.... Look at those seeds!
@cyndi you rock!! 💐
@PunkyKy haha! I can tell you get excited too about seeds! 😉 I'm always inspecting plants that are blooming to try to determine the seeds! ❤️
Do you do it when it's blooming or after?
@cyndi I had never heard it called that before... but google educated me. 😂
@PunkyKy I start checking it out shortly after it starts blooming, because things happen so fast! And as soon as seed pods pop open, dry out, or are visibly black, I pull them off and let them dry on the counter for a day before putting them in a container. 🙂
This plant produced so many seeds this year! But I was reading it is normally propagated by cuttings. @cyndi At any rate, I think I saw that on @demeterstouch page that they germinated quickly and without being stratified!
#cyndiwishlist
@Madgardener70 if you're going to clip off the whole stem, let them dry on a paper towel for couple days, then punch the seeds out. (It gets easier when they are fully dry.) seeds should be blackish when they are mature.
