Ocimum basilicum

This is the first time I see flowers in my basil plant. Is this common?

@Jesica if you want more leaves pinch the stalk with the flowers out, and side shoots will appear and it will be more bushy less leggy but if you like it leave it 😀

If you let it flower it will lose vigour, go to seed and die. If you don't want this then cut all the flowers off to encourage more leaves = more pesto! 😊
