Help me identify this plant. #plantid Anyone know what this shrub is? I just noticed it has some buds on it. Not sure what will bloom after the 2 nights of frost we just had. #pieris #pierisjaponica

Leaves and buds of the shrub. Anyone know if there is significance to the 2 different leaves? New growth? #pierisjaponica #pieris

@jennlamaye I looked it up after it was identified, that's exactly what it is!
I always thought this plant is a little funky, but it does make a nice privacy hedge. ;-)
@jennlamaye it's definitely funky! We have another outside the back window, from looking at it all the time it's grown on me some!
@jessielynn I think in the Fall, the birds love the seed/berries... And seeing them flit around made me appreciate the plant more. ;-)
@jennlamaye there is actually a birds nest in the one outside my back window. It was so cool to see the baby robins "grow up" this spring!
@jessielynn I would love little babies in the yard! <3 I got dive-bombed by a robin today while watering, so maybe I got too close to a nest. I'm definitely going to be listening for "cheeps" now!
