Can I plant these seed heads like normal seeds?
Do I need to deadhead these clematis or leave them be?
Leave them @johnst and you will be left with the centre part until it drops.

@johnst personally I wait until the first flush has finished, then prune off all seed heads after admiring them of course, keep fertilising once a week with high potash feed, then Piilu usually flowers again late summer, but with smaller, all single flowers.
