Saw cottony reside on this a few weeks ago. Sprayed it. Murdered a mealy bug yesterday. Spraying again today. The leaves just sit soooo close to each other I can’t get all the way in there with the spray... I hope I got all the mealys. 🤞 #mealybugs

It's a gorgeous plant - really hope it stays mealy free!
So I decided to unpot these and wash them off. Then I went hunting for mealybugs. I couldn’t find any so I tore some leaves off and finally found ONE. I only saw one or two tiny cotton spots so I’m thinking this is the one I have been missing in my sprays. Let’s hope they can start growing like normal now! #mealybugrecovery Oh and I put them both in gritty mix hoping that deters them even further.
@KelsiBriana I was using alcohol for a couple of weeks now. Spraying 3 days in a row and then waiting a week and spraying again. 😒
Yeah I just wanted to kill them all. And it still missed one with all that spraying. I have the bonide systemic houseplant insecticide which claims to prevent mealybugs but now I just need to start putting it into all my containers... if it even works.
@KelsiBriana Do you mean you use bonide and neem oil? I haven’t tried neem oil yet because I didn’t want it to ruin the look of my succulents.
@KelsiBriana Oh I gotcha. The bonide stuff I’m trying is a powder you mix into the soil. I mainly want it to help reduce gnats. My sticky paper gets in the way too often and my hair always gets stuck to it when I check on my plants.
@KelsiBriana mine all have pumice on top but I think it’s too chunky. I might need to try out sand. Would sand be okay with my propagating plants too?
