@gjones owww sorry to hear that. I plant them 8-10 cm. They've come back pretty big this year. Also they are planted in a full sun area. Hope that helps.

So pick off the faded flowers off the stem but make sure you leave the stem. The plant will naturally reabsorb all that fantastic photosynthesised greenage into the bulb. Resist removing the leaves until they are completely dried out.

I just cut the heads off the plants when they are dead, and leave the leaves.. Like with any other bulb plant.
