Beautiful orchids. Im really starting to get into them. One of the few bird of colour under the winter months. Mine are just starting to bud again.

@frozen2s , absolutely, they are joy in this period of short daylight when other plants are in dormancy.

Hello Martin. Any advice how a new person to orchids can keep them alive. Ive been told to water them once a week and others say only once a month . Help needed.

@charlotte , tip for watering is to check weight of the pot(heavy pot - watering is not needed) or to check the colour of roots(green colour - no watering needed). watering period depends of substrate type and plant activity, for me, in summer is possible to water them every 3-7days, in winter every 1-2 weeks

@charlotte , keep them away from cold draft and dry air. higher humidity in air lead to happier orchid. once you find the growing routine, then orchids will became easy care plants. whenever you doubt about watering better skipped 😜

That's good advice. I think I can manage that. I was given 4 orchids. The one doing the best is in our bathroom. Light and humid when we have a shower.
