It’s a hosta. Your main problem will be slugs. So beer traps near will help with that. They love shady damp spots and are really easy to divide in early spring just as the shoots appear 😁 and a big welcome to GardenTags

I grow my HOSTA'S in a pot too Joyce which I stand in a plastic saucer. I've put a good layer of small pebbles on top of the compost. I do feed mine every few weeks as the new growth shows. Welcome to GTags ....enjoy this brilliant app 👋😊🍃
