This is looking well beaten up and somewhat flattened, Q - can I cut it right down now? Any help appreciated

Don't you hand strip it rather than cut down? ☺

Ange @anges is right, you comb it through with your hands to remove the dead leaves Jeremy, I think the only ones you cut down are the deciduous grasses. 👍👍

I've done that but it's still sprawling all over, hey ho then a bit of a string support maybe 🤨

Same as @pelly and @anges said, better not to cut down. I cut down my stipa tenuissima last spring because the snow flattened it and it has looked thin and miserable ever since. The new growth will come back more upright and you can periodically comb your hands through it to get the old growth out.

Thanks Urzula, no surreptitious snipping then @ublaszko 😉

Morning folks, hope you all had a wonderful celebration day yesterday. The grass is starting to sprall, I wonder if I can cut it back?

Morning JP 👋🏼, I think Anemanthele does better if you comb out tired looking or dead bits with your fingers rather than cut it back uniformly. Although not too familiar with this particular one, so might be worth seeing what others suggest too.

Thanks Richard, that's inline with the advice online so I'll do that and see what it's like come spring @richard.spicer.7906
