It looks like it is about to burst into bloom, if you are referring to the knots on the ends of the stems. I've seen lilies at my grandmother's house do that but I don't know what variety they were.
@lesfuller, that is part of it but also, all of my other lilies stay compact where this one is shooting up with the buds spread out. So I'm curious to see it bloom and mature. We've had a very dry spell, too, so I'm wondering if that is contributing?
