Yep they sure can be hybrid types definitely but not Helleborus foetidus or Helleborus lividus or H. argutifolius. Most people split them in spring but I tend to do mine September/October time if they are very big plants. Just make sure each clump has a good growing point (if you're not sure wait until the spring and divide between flowering stems) and thick roots not fine roots as they probably won't establish and will die. They won't flower as well the first year as they will be trying to esta
Establish themselves but will be fine the year following. The roots can be woody and they have (kinda) rhizomes so make sure you've got something suitable to cut through them.

I believe they can 😊👍 But Hellebores are not my specialty so I could be wrong!
