I love indoor plants and have a small outdoor garden. I live in Manitoba (Zone 3).

What a weird year, this Lily stayed green all summer and then decided to bloom in October. @gjones, are these lilies supposed to bloom in the summer?

Thanks. They have made me happy because most of my other flowers have finished flowering. @hkyfvr @godfreye

Look what I discovered this morning! I thought they were finished, but as it turns out, there was one last flower; however, due to the Japanese Beetle, no leaves were present, just one lonely skinny stem. @gjones

I thought I had removed all the stems, but apparently not. @gjones. I believe you had sent me this one as well.😊

So pretty!💛😍 Japanese beetles are the worst! Most of the flowers ive grown this year have been destroyed by them!

Thank you @petitelake. I love the self-seeding larkspur, they add so much to the garden.

@littlemorningglory Yes, they sure have been a problem. Have you had any success with Neem oil?

@kaigia I've not tried it! I always keep a neem oil mixture around (in case of a spider mite attack) but I haven't thought about using it for the beetles. Ill have to try it☺

The orange ones bloom first, the the light pinks, then the dark pinks and finally the yellow ones make their appearance.

How nice! Did you get them separately and mix them?

@gjones @MelanieAt Thanks! I love this little corner of my house. Fortunately, the Japanese beetles didn't get to them this year. I got the different colours separately and just kept on adding. This corner is so small that I am unable to add other plants to it to replace the lillies once they finish blooming for the year and then, it's just a sad-looking area.

So what I do with lilies is lasagna planting with other bulbs. I layer them to have interest throughout spring, summer and I have perennials around them to keep going well into fall.

@MelanieAt. Great idea. I will do some planning with dividing some of these and moving in other flowers.

@blasome thanks! The orange is the most exciting because they are the first to appear.
