I love them, but they are a bit pricey here too. I first tried them several years ago on holiday in Thailand, where they are very cheap. I brought some seeds home & now have 3 approx 1 foot tall seedlings! @kaporyash & @yollymac
Not too bad. They need to be stratified. All I did was put them in a pot outdoors over winter & virtually all of them germinated in the following spring. I've lost a few but have 3 decent sized ones now around 3 years old. It may be a long wait though before they fruit, but they are hardy, as a friend of mine saw them growing in Japan on holiday there. @Yollymac
@jeatacake that's fantastic! Congratulations. I tend to kill anything other than succulents. Though I do have some oaktree saplings on the go. They survived winter too, thank heavens! 💗
28.09.19 ate this fruit for the first time in my life today @jeatacake
What did you think? I love persimons!
@Yollymac it's astringent nice pulpy!
It's so sweet, but it's a shame because it's very expensive here in Australia. It's a treat only. 🤩
