I love growing unusual and interesting things and am teaching my son to love it too. I have a tiny mostly potted garden in Newcastle NSW.

I planted a feijoa a couple of months ago. Something keeps eating the new growth..damn. How old is your plant, and how many seasons without fruit please Kathy @KathyB

@deekay I've had it for 5 years. It has flowered for the last 2 years but no fruit yet! It is supposed to be self-fertile but I am starting to have my doubts! I have had those tiny green inchworms attacking mine before.

@plants are you getting flowers? If you are but no fruit many guavas are self-fertile but give a better yield with cross-pollination. They are also insect pollinated so you could try manual pollination. It's worth the effort, the fruit is delish!

@KathyB- I bought one of these TODAY! Do they take a few years to fruit and how big do they grow? The label doesn't tell me. The flowers look Devine.... 😊

@Halo9801 hi Debbie, mine is in a pot and I've kept it around 1m but I've seen them at 4m. Mine has flowered but not fruited 😕 I'm going to try hand pollinating this year.

Thank you. I will certainly keep it shorter than 4m. I'm excited to watch it grow. Fingers x for you with the self pollinating. Please keep me updated. @KathyB
