I love growing unusual and interesting things and am teaching my son to love it too. I have a tiny mostly potted garden in Newcastle NSW.

@latebloomer I experimented with putting the seedlings out early this year. Has really pais off. The ones that went out at the beginning of spring are about 30 cm high with no flowers. These are over my head and I've been picking for weeks ☺

All my seed was planted March 17. Recommendations here are to plant the seedlings out in early spring but by May they were huge and starting to yellow so I put some in. I kept some back to plant in spring but even they went in earlier because they were looking so bad. The May plants have been giving me flower for nearly a month so I'm going to be going with a new schedule from now on!! ☺

The later they go out the less they struggle in my opinion 😆

Ah yes you have a good point there, bit different to wet and windy West Yorkshire , I do everything a month later than even southern Britain 😄😃

I can't believe the length of these stems! I have never had sweet peas this long! They really have responded well to going in early!! 😍

@latebloomer Mayish I think (didn't write it down) but I know the tripod went up in mid Autumn! They started going leggy and yellowing so I figured they wanted to go in the ground. 😁

Thanks @Shephes! You are going to have a whole pathway in one hit!! ☺ I make the impressions in the cement/mortar and when it's dry I make a mix of coloured sand and Bondcrete which I put in the impression to make it stand out. The first one is 3 years old, out in the weather and going strong!
