Conventional wisdom (and seed packets) suggest that sweet peas shouldn't be flowering yet. My garden never seems to listen to the rules. Last year I lost sll my sweet peas in early spring due to a few very hot days so I planted the seedlings out in late Autumn to see if I could get earlier flowers. So glad that I did!!! 😊

I think that seed packet instructions don't always comply to Australian weather.

We have a pretty short sweet pea season (too hot and dry for them). This year I am experimenting - I put the seedlings into the ground in Autumn to get bigger plants earlier (and hopefully more flowers). Seems to be working out so far! ☺
