Dionaea muscipula 'Dente Flytrap'

Picked this up at Aldi. I thought the kids would have fun learning how to care for this with me. Unfortunately I am clueless. A couple are turning black on me. 😕😕😕 #venusflytrap

It is completely normal for traps to turn black and die once they've feed a couple of times. Be sure that you are using distilled, rain, or reverse osmosis water only! Other waters will harm your plant. I also suggest keeping it outside in full sun (partial shade at first to acclimate it) Be sure and keep the media moist, never dry....but not waterlogged. The only time I suggest letting it sit in a tray of water is during the heat of summer when water evaporates quickly. #venusflytrap-care
