Morning peeps #firstbloom opening up at long last 💖💚💖💚 feels like end of an era this week as our head office shuts that I will never return to after working there 20yrs so home workings the future now 😮😢 Guess the #mondaymotivation spin on that is I get to see more of my garden 😆

It’s not easy after 20 years but as you say, there are definitely benefits working from home. All that travel time to and from work...add it up over the year and you’ve got heaps more gardening time 😊 🌿🌸🌼🌱

It's ok most of work will be from home now apart from my sleep clinics at the hospital, so she'll still be driving me nuts 😂

@italydiva your so right Angela 2/3 buses every morning and afternoon it took up nearly 3hrs of my working day so now I just roll out of bed wash/teeth n log on n now I'm finished for day as work agile no set time I tend to do early morning gives me more of an afternoon to potter 😆 might struggle a bit come Winter but will try get a good routine going 😄

@jpea thank you. Yes missing all my colleagues already but soon as covid has died down more will be arranging more get togethers but miss the kitchen lunch banter. Good thing though when rain came today could run n bring washing in 😂 its been in n out all blinking day keeping me fit 😂

It is in part sun part shade, when I first got it it was mainly in more shade and did well Barbara it outgrew its pot in the back so it's now in part sun part shade should be ok where it is too it's settled in well now, it flowers really well so lovely choice if you get one 👍😄 @jacaranda

Pink blooms each year been cutting part of this one back as its really old so getting woody so don't get flowers in parts but after next year should be much thicker and healthier it did get damaged from the hailstone earlier this year and a bit of frost so its been through the mill 💕💞💕

I'm taking my 50 year old one to the ground this year it's 7 ft tall and just can't take its own size praying I don't kill it but it really needs to be smaller have you taken one to the ground before?

@slj Hi Sarah it should be fine if you do it in Spring mum did same with hers last year didn't get any flowers last year but this year its an absolute beauty and so lush and green, I only have small borders and this is quite prominent in mine which is reason I'm doing half each year so I at least get some flowers from it 👍

@AlisaJ this is one we had a demonstration on when I attended the pruning course at RHS Harlow Carr in Feb this year. He showed me how to really go to town cutting all but the newest, perfectly positioned ones down by 1/2 to 2/3 so that next year I'll have the same to do again but just by 1/3. Mine looked decimated when I first did it but boy have they responded (apart from the one the a bag of wood chip mulch toppled on... oops)

@gillw no this one is new I rescued it from wilkos poorly shelf about 3 wks ago for half price down to £5 it started off blue n cream went lilac n changing again to pink just needed some TLC n water 🙌💕

@gillw I moved my front garden one ln early Spring to a better spot and its thrived so don't worry about moving them as long as its done right time and plenty of feed it should be fine just never move them when in full bloom 👍
