Three cuttings of #gaura doing really well now in case mine doesn't make it over Winter as they seem to be short lived!! 25.09 #mygardenkeely

I wasn’t doing cuttings but I’ve started seeding some things like Esperanza and Orange trumpet vine so maybe by spring they’ll b a good size. I do those inside with a grow light but zinnias and thosei don’t seed til February. I’ve tried and tried and I can’t get the gaura to take from cuttings you must have a magic green thumb 🤗🤗 😊💕

@terrimclaughlin oooh I must have knack first time doing them for me too, I found them suite easy just dipped them in root powder and covered with trifle pot and they all rooted well 🙆🙆 I will bring these into back bedroom window cill as really don't want to loose these it's such a good plant. My coleus and osteospermum cuttings come in too over Winter,my house ends up a greenhouse over Winter but its all cost saving for next year I always do too many as some don't always survive 😄

My seedlings are doing better than my cuttings, I seem to be crap at cuttings, think I'll stick with taking seeds 😂😂

@pelly do you use rooting powder Jane? I cover mine too with my trifle pots as I do my seed pots then once they are established take the pot off and pot on I let them sweat under pots no need to water again usually, and don't put them in direct sunlight either 😐

Yes ,I use rooting powder, I think I just need to eat more trifle, but I'm guilty of keeping them in direct sunlight, thanks for the #advice Keely 😍😘

@linfoster they seem to be short lived Lin most I have had is 2 years then they don't come back so if I can keep cuttings going I will be happy as can have continual plants each year 😄

So loving this one 💖💖💖

Very pretty Keely! I've got a white Gaura growing in a pot but it's still very small, so don't think it will flower this year unfortunately! Enjoying yours though! 😀

@bigemrg my white one never came back this year need to get another as lovely flowers on them

I grew mine from seed this year and was unsure whether they would flower in their first year! Do you know if they need protecting over winter?

I’m having a pink overload 💕💕💕💕💕💕🤣

Oh me too, wish list here I come 💞💕

@bigemrg mine have never survived a Winter yet Ian so I would say yes I even mulched them 3" to protect them last year to no avail and they were very good strong plants last year! I am on improved clay soil maybe in better soil they are but I treat them as annuals now due to this as it's happened for last 3 years 😥

Thanks for the info Keely! I think I'll move mine to the growhouse over winter - that's if I remember of course! 😀

@juliesgarden me too 😂💕😂💕😍

@pelly well you have to it's got your name on it no excuse 😂💕😂

@linfoster thank you sweetie 😘

First bloom so pretty this is full of flowers to open 💕💗

Gorgeous. Lovely pic. Just waiting for mine 😬 it’s my last attempt as they never seem to do very well. Trying it in the drier border so fingers crossed!

@rachelbrooks this was £1 from autumn's Harrogate flower show I would buy them again if they have them this year as they never come back in mine year after but worth it for £1 loved my white ones they only lasted one Summer didn't make it through winter must only be half hardy 😄

It's lovely Keely. Do they prefer dry conditions Keely @rachelbrooks Last year's didn't do well, but this year's are all in pots that I want to put in a good spot in the garden 🤔

@susanhumphrey333 Def prefers are dried spot Sue in full or part sun 👍😄

Love the deep pink colour......

@wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom thank you luvvie 😄

I had them in the border that has the box hedge so I don’t think mine got enough sunlight girls, and they always flopped 🙄 same with a lot in that border so it’s a bit of trial and error 😊 @susanhumphrey333

@rachelbrooks @susanhumphrey333 I've put a ring support round mine works a treat 😊

In pots they are just leaning one way at the moment and looking lovely. They might eventually fall flat, but looking good for now. Might try that in the pots Keely @rachelbrooks Thankyou 😚

I’ll give that a go too if this one looks like it’s on the bend! 👍🏼☺️ Keely and Sue @susanhumphrey333
