@SylviaDavies awe thank you these were from mums garden a couple of years back but prob years old as lady that had the bungalow was 94 so they will have been in hers years mums are huge and spread like mad. I don't over water them either. Fingers crossed for next year for you 😄

Mine has been there three years and still nothing! 😣 Could it be that it has been planted to deep? Should I feed it? Any suggestions appreciated! So jealous!

@SylviaDavies yes if its planted too deep they don't like it I can see the tops of the tubers on mine when they die off and I just mulch around them over Winter then in spring give them a good sprinkle of blood fish n bone seems to work for me mine are also in a sunny position, hope that helps but I wouldnt do anything until around late October to raise them up as they don't like been disturbed that's when I took these from mums and didn't suffer flowered first year despite their move 😄👍

@wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom funny you say that Elaine all my plants are about 3 weeks ahead of last year, I did mulch with horse manure in autumn n spring n tgats the only difference to any other year but it has certainly paid off my front has no moisture in it at all, will do same this year too 👍

@BillWatson mine do seem earlier this year think its all the manure and chicken pellet feed earlier in year that's helped all mine this year, just one open at minute but the ants are on another one so think that will only be a couple of days, not sure why the buds attract ants when they are due to open but helps me know when they do 😃

@Keely can I pick your brains, a friend has a tree peony which is going over, do you just leave it or should you remove the old flower?

Ive dead headed mine but to be honest im not 100%, with mine been new in ive treat it same day as my rhodie as dont want the goodness to go back in the bud for seeds want it in the plant, whether im right im not sure, did no harm last year as got more flowers on it this year @lovemygarden65

Thanks @Keely he bought it last year with 1 flower on it. This year it had 3 flowers and he wasn't sure what to do. As my tree peony hasn't any flowers this year, I wasn't much help 😁😂

@lovemygarden65 mine went in last year and only had 2 flowers but this year ive had 8 so far so it worked dead heading them 👍
