That's so pretty. I dug out my Patty Plum poppies, two years running now they just get wrecked. I put a new shrub in its place. Patty's are too temperamental and don't like our wet weather 😳💕💕💜

@midnightgardener the oriental ones do take over I just throw seeds in of this one n they pop-up every now n then 😄

@lexijane seeds from eBay hun 👍💜 only about a foot tall so dotted around garden really pleased I managed to do a Himalayan poppy from seed as even Monty struggled with these poppies albeit his were the blue ones 👍😄

@lexi they are called Afghan blue papaver somniferum they are darker pics on eBay as more pinky/purple but I do have one opening to that colour too these are lighter probably my soil 💕

Wow! 😍 That's a lovely poppy Keely, one I've not seen before & well done growing it from seed. I have tried many times with these types of poppy (especially Himalayan types) without any success.

@awomanonabike @jeatacake thank you so much. I was worried as young plants they were very floppy and i didn't think they would survive but got at least 10 that did and now dotted around border will def be doing more now next year now 😆

You may find that they will do the work for you next year by self-seeding everywhere! 👌

OMG Keely! Thank goodness you're alright. There'll be plenty more flowers on the poppies to come. All we had over here was a bit of a rumble & a few spots of rain. Was hoping for a good downpour but not hailstones!! 😕
