Hydrangea paniculata 'Jane' syn. Hydrangea paniculata 'Little Lime'

Need some advice, to dead head or not to dead head? I've noticed most people don't - is this the right thing to do?

I think you are supposed to deadhead them in spring

If you get possible late frosts it's best to leave them till spring and just cut back to a fat bud.
