Korea has the most interesting plant life!

Is this the one that makes pine nuts? And what beautiful cones. 🌲🍦

Love how the new growth looks like tiny pom-poms 😛 #korean-fir #abies-koreana #foliagefriday

Love the colour. 😍

Love the cones on these 💙

Wow 🤩

Love it 💚

Cute!

@hkyfvr @johnnyuk @juliesgarden @debs69 @debsgarden99 @italydiva thanks all 😃 can never work out if they’ll turn into cones or new branches 😂 still waiting on the supposed blue cones to make an appearance 🙏🏻

Very welcome. Blue cones sound intriguing 💙

@KOutdoors thanks Karen 😄 this was taken from directly overhead. The new growth is surprisingly soft! If these are planted in the ground they can get to 10m 😲 glad mine is in a pot and growing slowly 🤣

@KOutdoors a big beastly one would look pretty amazing with its blue cones 😍

@KOutdoors 🤣😂🤣 so true!

I love these. They look amazing when the blue colouring appears 💙

@jeatacake that’s the bit I’m excited for but think it’s a way off yet 🙄 seems quite slow growing

Maybe autumn is the time? If you have it in a pot then slow growing isn't such a bad thing.

@jeatacake autumn would be good 😛 even if it was just 1 cone 😅

I think you'll have at least these 4 in the photo 🤞

@jeatacake would you believe they turned into branches 🤯 absolutely fuming 😤😆

Huh! 😮 You'd never would have thought it looking at the photo! 🤔

@jeatacake I was convinced they’d be cones! But they’re now branches about 5” long! Damn plants, confuse my old brain 😆

Fabulous photo

I was looking at Korean fir seeds this year! I was going to grow some trees from seed as an experiment but then the veg got me obsessed. I might sow them towards the end of summer indoors. I was also looking at Japanese maple seed mix.

That's very unusual 💚💚💚

Great photo!

Awesome fir tree 👍💚

@juliesgarden thanks Julie 😀

@ublaszko would be amazing to watch it grow from seed 😮 and maples too! Can imagine they’re both very slow though 😜 veg obsessed is never a bad thing 😋 can’t beat eating something you’ve grown yourself 🍽

@pelly supposedly has blue cones 😋 looks like there’s a hint of blue in the new growth 🤔

@gjones thanks Katy 😃 they’re one of those that you have to touch 😂

@italydiva thanks Angela 😄

@hkyfvr thanks Diane 😁

Cataloging. #korean-fir #abies-koreana

These look fabulous when they get those blueish cones 👍

@jeatacake are they really as blue as the photos show? 😍

I've never seen one in the flesh, but I suspect maybe not, as some of these plant magazines do exaggerate/enhance the colour!

@jeatacake they really do! It’s not often things grow to look like they do in adverts 😐 it’s a nice little tree nonetheless 🌲

Certainly is & the cones will still look good, even if not iridescent metallic dayglow blue! 😄💙

@jeatacake 😂 I could pretend and get my crayons out 😉🤣

😆😆😆
These cones last for months! #korean-fir #abies-koreana
