Beautiful
Love this shade of blue 💜💙💜💙 We used to have one like this outside our old flat.
Love the colour 💙💙
Gorgeous 💙💙💙
So beautiful close up 💙💛💙 I think it's a different one to mine though, as mine doesn't have the little yellow bits
@solly1961 thanks Mark 😀
@ublaszko it’s very pretty 😋 you have ceanothus wherever you go 😛 is the one where you are now is a more pale blue?
@sabbanrula thank you Rula 😃
@lovemygarden65 thanks Marilyn 😄
@jeatacake thank you Jeff 😁 the pollen makes it look like it’s sparkling 🤩 love it at this stage
I have a baby blue one. 😆

@jeatacake not likely to catch up with yours in a hurry! 😂 #ceanothus #californian-lilac #ceanothus-concha
Looking good though 😍💙😍💙😍💙
@jeatacake much better than last year but a long way til it looks as good as yours, even if it won’t get much bigger 😅
It looks nice already. Maintaining the shape helps. If you are inclined to prune it, it will soon be time. As soon as the flowers have finished you can do it, but not really any later, as it will flower next year on this year's new growth 👍
@jeatacake was its first year last year so didn’t wanna hack at it just yet. But after flowering it’ll be getting Edward Scissorhanded 😂
🤣🤣🤣 Don't overdo it though! Ever thought of taking up hairdressing? 😁
@jeatacake I reckon I could do a decent lockdown haircut trade with what I’ve learned from pruning 🤣🤣🤣

Smells so good 🤤 #ceanothus #californian-lilac #ceanothus-concha
💙💙💙
Lovely! 😍
I think this might be the same variety as mine 👍💙
💙💙
@juliesgarden thank you Julie 😀 smells good too 😋
@ecoplant.5 thanks Dahsa 😃
@jeatacake yours is a giant 😍 hope for mine then 😛😂
@sabbanrula thank you Rula 😄
5 years ago mine was about 2 ft or so tall. Its really surprised me how fast it's grown & I've never fed it either.
@jeatacake oh wow! That’s crazy growth! Hopefully the pot will restrict mine cos I don’t have space for one your size 😂
What size pot is it in? I might have thought twice about where I planted mine had I known what a monster it would become! 😄

That's going to look gorgeous. 💙💙💙
I want to see a close up when it blooms! Does it have 'lilac' scent?
Those buds are colouring up well & plenty of them too 💙 Like most things you have it looks a week or so ahead of mine.
@pelly I’m hoping so 😁 still surprised how much better things look in their second year 😜
@maldavis of course 😁 apparently it is scented but wasn’t noticeable with the very few flowers I had last year 😜
@jeatacake hopefully will be a ball of blooms 😁 a lot of things kickstarted with the sun last week I think. But due a week of cold so you’ll catch up in no time 😛
We'll see. Just glad not too much is in flower just yet though, especially fruit trees. 🍎🍐🍒
@jeatacake they’d not last long with this cold weather still showing up 😤
Nor would anything pollinate them either 😧
@jeatacake oh I forgot about the pollinators. Don’t know how because the bees I’ve been seeing are absolutely ginormous this spring!!!

@gjones they’re beautiful aren’t they. Won’t be long before your seedlings are full of these flowers 💙
I'm a big fan of these too 💙💙💙
Beautiful!
@gjones hope they all flourish 😁 good to have a back up just in case
@jeatacake the little blue pom poms are so attractive, especially on a larger plant 💙
@scottz thank you Scott 😀

Cataloging
Didn’t flower since 2020. Looked like I’d lost it over winter. Now flowering better than it ever has and it’s a deeper blue than before. Plants are confusing 😜😂 #ceanothus #californian-lilac #ceanothus-concha
#greatcolor
Beautiful and ahead of mine Kerry in the south !!
That’s great news 💙💙💙
Maybe one of the few shrubs that enjoyed the dreadful winter? 🤔
So happy this is doing well for you. Love the deeper blue colour. 💙💙
@emch @johnnyuk @juliesgarden @pelly @italydiva @hkyfvr thanks all 😄 it’s strange how some plants seem to have been kicked up the bum by the frosts and some just kicked the bucket 😜😂 thanks to you all being so encouraging I didn’t give up my garden. Was so close, sooooo close 🙈 but seeing lots thriving has been worth the patience 🙏🏻
Very welcome. So glad you did not give up 😄
Good to hear we helped !! 😘😘
I guess nature will always throw us a curve ball from time to time, but our gardens will always bring us pleasure. Glad you’ve bounced back 😊
@hkyfvr @juliesgarden @johnnyuk @italydiva only takes one thing to flower and you’re drawn back in again 😂 thank you all 😘
I think we are in too deep to quit now. 😂
