@jacaranda I was expecting it to be much less colourful after seeing the buds open. Then I noticed the buds were from a different clematis 🤣

It reminds me a bit of Josephine which is my favourite and this year the buds on mine are huge 😮

Just looked this one up & seen how they'll finish up. It's going to look amazing 💜

@jeatacake they really look great don’t they 😁 don’t have much luck with clematis, they seem to die back after getting to a certain height, so I’m glad this one seems to be taking off! The other 2 look just as pretty, can’t wait to see them flower too 😋

I've had trouble with them too in the past. It may be certain soil types that they don't like or not planting them deep enough, with the roots not in a shaded area but top growth in the sun 🤔 They all seem OK where I live now & really starting to get going now.

@jeatacake it’s all about finding the right place for them i guess. Hopefully I have now and sounds like yours definitely have the perfect conditions 😁
