@gjones thanks Katy 😄 there are a few winter varieties but they aren’t anywhere near as flamboyant as the typical clematises. Freckles is probably the most decorative 🤩

@gjones last year was the first time it flowered, mid January apparently. Nice to have a clematis blooming through the cold months, even though they aren’t much like the typical flowers 😜

Yay! I've been trying to decide on a winter flowering clematis to grow up the twiggy climbing hydrangea

It's beautiful! 😍😍 I found out last week that my one had clematis wilt. I dug it up to see the roots and it was all gone! Just a little stick above the soil 😅 Will have to add it to my Wilko list 😉

Wilko sell it 😉 @DeborahBanks Also a variety called Wisley cream. And Morrisons sell Jingle Bells and I think Freckles. I prefer winter flowering clematis to summer ones.

Wisley Cream is putting on new growth so I'm hoping it will have flowers at some point. I think it's supposed to flower this year. And hurray hurray I think my honeysuckle should finally come into flower this year! 😄😄

There are still a couple of plants in my garden I haven't seen in flower. My red camellia and my bearded iris. Oh, and three peonies, white, pink and hot pink. Would be great if Wisley flowered this year though. 😍 @kez001uk

I had 3 bearded irises but two rotted away. Hoping the remaining one will flower next year. Peonies make you wait so long for the flowers 😴 I reckon mine are still too small to flower this year. I will have to enjoy yours in the meantime. 😊

@ublaszko oh no 😥 do you won’t know which one is remaining until it flowers? Well I think we may both be waiting another year because we got them around the same time 😜 the foliage is nice anyway, especially in autumn 😍

So pretty! 😍 I think mine is well and trully dead. It suffered in the heat and I've just kept it in case it comes back from the base in spring. I think I like it though and will get a replacement.

@kez001uk Ooh I forgot I’ve got a couple of these. I need to check on them when it’s drier out there. It’s the first time flowering for me too only planted them last year. 😁🙏🏼

@ublaszko that’s such a shame ☹️ but you never know what spring might reveal 🤞🏻 they are great for constant greenery, and the foliage is quite pretty too. But the flowers for this drab time of year make it worth replacing 💚
