Give it a big pot when you repot it. ☺ Hellebores have deep roots so need a pot twice the size of the rootball and they also like rich soil. I feed them twice a year with organic slow release food, once in autumn and another time when they start to produce new foliage. 😊
@ublaszko I’ll do that, thank you 😁 I don’t know anything about these yet so appreciate the advice 😛 not quite sure where they’re going yet though, I presume they like a little shade?
I saw it's a new purchase and I know it's your 2nd year gardening so I'm happy to share what I learnt last year 😊 They say hellebore like some sun and some shade. They're not actual shade plants like hostas or astilbes. Mine get morning sun and they're protected from hot afternoon sun so they seem to like it. Let it dry out between waterings (once the top inch of the soil is dry you can water it again) as they are prone to rot and fungal diseases. Good luck! 👍
@ublaszko it’s much appreciated. I usually never check and just buy a plant, repot it immediately and put it anywhere there’s a gap 😂 it’s not always proved to be a great technique 😂

I wish I'd know which variety of helleborus niger I have. It was just sold as a Christmas rose. I live how they have these green tube things around the centre of the flower 💚💚
@ublaszko so frustrating when they don’t name plants properly 😔 I got these 2 after you said about them flowering earlier than the hybrids I have. The pure white is lovely and how they fade to green is a nice feature. But I never noticed the green tubes before! Had to look on the photo and zoom right in 😂 it’s like a little ballet skirt 😛
@gjones they’re lovely flowers aren’t they ☺️ keep seeing them on here and they’re all so beautiful so thought I’d jump on the bandwagon 😂
@gjones I was going to ask if you could grow them 😅 never though of them being snow covered for the whole time they were in flower 😂
