@ublaszko 🤯🤯🤯
🎉🎉🎉
@ublaszko and another 2 have flowers 😱 keeping 3 of 8 alive isn’t a success but better than I usually do 😂 thank you for your help, none would have survived without it 🙏🏻
Glad I could help! 👍 They're doing better than my thyme and rosemary 😰 I found out I can get grit on Amazon now so next year I'm going to buy new herbs and really bulk the compost up with the grit. At the moment I fell out of love with my rosemary 😳
@ublaszko what’s wrong with your rosemary?
It's in a pot with normal potting compost and it stays moist for too long. Some of the foliage is turning yellow and it's generally not growing very well.
@ublaszko I think I have that issue with my standard lavender. I rarely water it and it’s fine but this week has been unkind to it ☹️

@ublaszko these are the almost dead remaining 3
I'd probably take cuttings and get rid of the mother plants. They won't grow back leaves from the woody part and will look straggly. Are you watering them enough? 😊😉 Maybe move them to some shade until the heatwave is over.
@ublaszko I’ve taken cuttings, figured if they root they’re more likely to survive in my garden 🤞🏼 they’re in dappled shade and are being soaked when needed. Think they just don’t like my garden 😂
Oh no!! 😭
You could put a bag over the cuttings supported by bamboo sticks to keep the moisture in 😊 Hope the cuttings root. Fingers crossed!
@bluefox23 Awful aren’t they 😥
@ublaszko I will do that tomorrow 😛 thank you loads ☺️
🤞🏼 hope the cuttings take
@richard.spicer.7906 thank you ☺️ me too! I can’t seem to keep it alive whatever I do 🙈

@ublaszko 😳😳😳
It looks like it's drying out as the tips of the leaves and stems are starting to go crispy. Give it a good soak and move in shade until it perks up. ☺ Then, water again once the top inch of the soil is dry again. Maybe don't prune for now as there won't be much left 😰 Hopefully, it will perk up and produce side shoots to cover the woody framework. I'd move in the morning sun again once it looks a bit more alive. 😅
@ublaszko thank you urszula 😁 hopefully I’ll have a positive update for you soon 🤞🏼
Ooh is this one you planted recently? 😬
@bluefox23 I’m embarrassed to say it is 🙈 I just think lavender is allergic to my garden, or me 😂 just awful 😳
Well i have the same problem; can't grow it at all! 😞
@bluefox23 seems we are in the same boat 😂 annoying cos it’s so pretty and smells gorgeous 💜
Yep! 🙄😊

Can’t keep lavender alive no matter what I do. But decided to try again 🤣 it’s too pretty not to (just not yet, these 4 new babies arrived in less than good condition 😔)
Let it dry out between waterings. The soil should be dry down to about 3 inches before you need to water it again. And it needs full sun (at least 6 hours a day). My 'Hidcote' died from overwatering but now I've had much better success with cotton lavender I bought to replace it. ☺
@ublaszko it’s such a lovely plant that I really want some in the garden. Might look into cotton lavender if this batch fails 😂 thank you for the tips urszula ☺️
I've had the same problem with lavender. Given up on it. But maybe I'll try again with cotton lavender too. @kez001uk @ublaszko
The way I saw Monty planting lavender he added lots of rubble to the planting hole for drainage. Broken bricks, broken crocks, grit and then compost. Lavender doesn't need rich soil and it likes to bake in the sun. What I'm trying out now with herbs is growing them in terracotta pots as with them you can see when the pot itself is starting to dry. @bluefox23
@ublaszko I knew there was a reason to use terracotta pots. So glad I did now 😛 I remember seeing monty use rubble so I did fill the bottom of my pots with plenty of gravel. I think I’ve done everything right this time so it’s just a case of holding back on watering. Here’s hoping we all have better luck this time @bluefox23
Apart from being able to see the moisture level terracotta pots also loose some moisture through the pot so roots are less likely to sit in wet soil 👍I think French lavender has different water needs to English lavender though and I seem to remember French lavender needing watering more frequently than English lavender.
@ublaszko never thought of that, the plastic ones will never rid water as well as a porous pot. I grow a French lavender standard and that does seem to appreciate more watering, at least it’s still alive so assume it does 😂😂😂
Good tips. 🤞🏼 @ublaszko @kez001uk
Ooo, love a French lavender standard 😍😍😍

That’s a lovely one Kerry 😍
@richard.spicer.7906 thanks rich 😁 not a plant I have much success with but glad I got this one to flowering stage
