@ublaszko it was tiny a few weeks back! I moved it into a shadier place when I had building stuff done and it seems to like it. Doesn’t look as healthy as yours though
Sounds like it's recovering. I think they just don't like dry and hot weather we've had this year. Mine looked poorly just a few weeks back but ever since the first thunderstorm it seems to be improving.
It might regrow leaves, not sure. Don't cut it back though. It will produce new stems from the ground in mid to late spring and the ones from this year will bear flowers. Well, hopefully both yours and mine will start to flower next year. I'd plant something else around the base of the plant though as it likes roots in the shade, head in the sun - just like a clematis. Maybe go for something with large leaves or different leaf shape to create a contrast.
Oops, this honeysuckle is a different variety than mine but I think I saw those pink stems on your other honeysuckle plants. Mine is the Dutch variety.
That's what I thought. Apparently there are two main types, Japanese honeysuckle and Dutch honeysuckle. No idea what the difference is though. They look the same to me 😉😂😂😂
Your honeysuckle looks taller than mine! 👍👍

@ublaszko yours looks great. Do you know if the bottom will regrow its leaves or does it need cut right back for that?

@ublaszko hopefully we will both be happier with them next year 😁 they all have primroses around the bottom but I cut them out of the photo 😂
As long as they keep growing upwards and produce new basal shoots I'll be happy. I like the pinkish stems of the new growth 😍😍
@ublaszko oooh I didn’t know new shoots are pink. I look forward to seeing them more now 😛

@ublaszko I thought honeysuckles were all much the same, just different flowers 😂

@ublaszko they do to me too 😕😂🤣
