Hoping for plenty of pink this year 🤞🏻 #pink-muhly-grass #muhlenbergia-capillaris
Oooh liking this one did you grow it from seed?/💞
@Keely you do love a grass 😉 I got this as a plant but didn’t do much at all until this year. Covered in flower spikes! Have seen seeds online but will try save some if you’d like ☺️
Nice! I've had success with the grass seeds you gave me. I'll pot them up in a couple of days. After several attempts I've no joy with my own seeds, did you have any luck with them
@alan1111 I’m so glad to hear that the cloud grass seeds are doing well for you ☺️ to be truthful I’m struggling with my seeds this year. I did about 30 different trays in early May and nothing has germinated a part from a sunflower. So I’m hoping the heat is going to spur them on 😐
Me too, very poor germination rate and those that do half of them don't make it ☹️
Oh that would be brilliant if you could I can do them next year, I've done the cloud grass n bunny tail grass this year can't wait to see them all in pots with the bedding plants 😍 I missed Harrogate flower show with lockdown always come home with a new grass from there 😠😢 should have been going to London today n Kew Gardens tmz but there's always next yr best been safe 😄
@alan1111 it’s really strange because the same happened to Alison 🤔 wonder why we are having such little luck 😜
@Keely I’ll give it a go 😁 cloud grass is just gorgeous! I’ve done it again this year 😍 oh no, that’s so disappointing 😢 is better being safe, of course, but it’s happened at the time of year when so much would have been going on. You’ll have to go to even more shows next year to make up for it 😉

💕
@auricula thank you Elise 😁 I cant wait to see it flower properly. Looks amazing in the photos I’ve seen 😍
Just found this post whilst searching for pink candy grass. Is this a good as it looks on photos, where did you get yours 😊
@angiecrazycatlady I have 2 but they’re still very small. This is the first time they’ve flowered and this photo is as impressive as they’ve been so far. I think they’ll be lovely once they grow but still in their first year. www.bluebellcottage.co.uk was where I got mine - £4.50 for a 9cm potted one 😊 or burncoose.co.uk has bigger ones though
#grasses
I'm also looking at pink/red grasses...how has it faired this year?
@cee it’s grown a fair bit but I don’t think I’ll be keeping it. I have never known a plant self seed like this 🙈 I’m pulling it out of every pot, it’s growing in gravel, just can’t control it even though it’s in a pot 😭
Oh no, that's a shame🤨. Thanks for the heads up, I shall keep searching🧐
@cee you’re welcome ☺️ hope you find something nice 😛

Just looked at this in flower & am mightily impressed 👌
@jeatacake isn’t it stunning! Never seen one til last week so has to hunt a couple down 😂 thought it’d look good with fibre optic grass 😍
Yes looks fab, wishlist!
@Denise16 it’s a beauty 💗
I've never seen this plant before now. The pink is going to be so pretty. (Encyclopedia pictures)
@sherrisgarden it looks amazing in flower doesn’t it! I can’t wait til it puts on a show 😁
I love that you've got a long plant #wishlist!
@patburke58 can never have too many plants 😛 even if they’ve not made it to my garden yet 😂

The tiniest little flowers 🤍 #pink-muhly-grass #muhlenbergia-capillaris
Son pretty 😍
Great photo!
Woo nice! ❤ I was going to plant this last year, but its apparently shy to flower in the windswept desolate northern wastelands of Yorkshire. So I went for Deschampsia instead 👌🙌
@Keely thanks Keely 😀
@cyndi I agree, fascinating how something so small can be so detailed 🤯
@ublaszko thanks Urszula 😃
@gardengimp 🤣 you make Yorkshire sound like a Fallout game 🤣 you made the right choice I reckon 😛 this is lovely but far from what the photos online show it 😐
😂😂 I think a group of 3-5 planted in the ground and settled in for 3 years in a location below Birmingham and you'll get the same result! 😕 @kez001uk
@gardengimp I only grow in pots so whatever I grow is always a little less impressive 😜 but I’m sure I could find a biiiiig pot for them to spread in 😛
@kez001uk sounds like a good idea, it will be just as impressive with space and maturity. Don't know how long you've had it for, but 3 years seems to be the average time for most grasses to show their potential 😃
@gardengimp thank you got it as a small plant it October ‘18 so there’s still a way to go until it reaches potential. Now if only my pampas grasses would flower then I’ll be happy with all my grass plants 😂
