Will be leaving the spent flowers alone from now on 😛 so decorative! #pieris
They are lovely Kerry. I have never seen a Pieris in bloom. Maybe next year. 😍😍
@hkyfvr thanks Diane 😊 yours was new this year?
@gjones so sweet how they turn upwards as they dry out 🥰
Very welcome. Yes it was new this year. 😍
@hkyfvr should get your flowers next year for sure. They usually start to grow their flowering bits around now so keep a watch out for what look like grapeless bunches of grapes 🤣
Sounds very exciting. I do have one red branch of leaves that are pretty. I will watch for the grapeless grapes 🤣
@hkyfvr the new growth is such a great colour 😍 I had no idea how to describe them but that’s pretty accurate, as you’ll see 😆

Another I usually deadhead before I get to see these 🤩 #pieris
They look awesome. 💚
@hkyfvr don’t they! I’ve never seen them before as I usually deadhead as the flowers are going over 🙈 look like miniature bunches of grapes 😂
The stems on each one reminds me of tiny unripe crabapples. Lol. 😆
@hkyfvr oh yes, I can see that 😛 teeny little apples 😋
It'll be interesting to see what colour they'll change to?
@jeatacake I’m curious! Probably just shrivel up and go brown 😂
Noooooo! I'll go for red 👍
@jeatacake best placed! I’ll update when there’s a change 😛

Pomegranate seeds…..I think I said that last year…😆 it’s gorgeous
Beautiful 😍
Very pretty and dainty
@wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom @hkyfvr @vJB thanks ladies 😄 it’s a beauty when it starts to open up like this. The little flowers really do look like pomegranate seeds 😂
Very welcome. They sure do 🤣
Very nice. I have a white one. Eh, it’s ok but I like yours better 😊
@philstalder the white ones are so pretty 😍 guess this one is the best of both worlds ❤️🤍

Love these little beauties 😍😍
@gjones @hkyfvr thank you both ☺️ always happy to see this coming to life 😍
Always welcome. I can see why. 😄
Fabulous ❤ As with most things they're much further on than mine
@jeatacake still surprises me how different the flowering times are between our areas. It’s not that far, relatively speaking 🤯
It is surprising as you say. Maybe it's because I'm in a slightly elevated location here & probably get more cloud too? 🤔
@jeatacake and we are in a dip here, the complete opposite 😂 most weather just blows past us
Very lucky, especially if it's not acting as a frost pocket in winter 👍
@jeatacake only the past few nights 🥶 I fleeced delicate stuff and didn’t work as well as I’d hoped 😣
Oh no. I hope you've not lost anything 😨
@jeatacake only the flowers on my magnolias I think. They’re not looking great anyway 🥺

So lovely Kerry. Pretty colour. 💗
@hkyfvr @gjones thanks ladies ☺️ get excited seeing this start to bud up. Even at this stage it looks so pretty 💞
Reminds me of fairy blooms... I have no idea why!
Very welcome. It really does. 💗
@KariSamuel I love that 🥰 they do look like fairy trees 😛

Wow!! That's one amazing Pieris Kez ❤️❤️❤️
@juliesgarden thanks Julie ☺️
@hkyfvr thanks Diane 😊 it’s absolutely covered in flowers this year 😍
@wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom thanks Elaine 😀
@midnightgardener thanks Chris 😃 not too shabby for a Tesco plant 😂
Covered in flowers is a wonderful thing. 👍💗😍
@hkyfvr oh yes 😋
@gjones thanks Katy 😄 it’s taken on a life of its own this year 😋

💗💗💗
Nice one ❤ Like most things, very early compared to mine 👍
@pelly thanks Jane 😁
@columbiariver thank you Laura 😄
@gjones if only they all flowered at once 😜
@jeatacake only a few odd ones opened so far 😜 they must like the extreme cold down here 🥶 unlike the tropical north 😉
Tropical....I wish! It is meant to be first free now, at least for the next week or so 🤞
@jeatacake keep thinking the worst of the frosts are over and then another arrives 🙄 reluctant to do much until it warms up a little 😜
I know what you mean. There were 2 severe ones in May last year, but we can't of course delay things that long. Weve just got to hope for the best 🙏 & play with candles & matches! 🔥😮
@jeatacake those late ones destroyed so much but you’re right, can’t leave everything alone until may. Hopefully the worst is over and can get back out there 😁

On the way 😍 #pieris
Do you have irrigation setup for all of your lovely containers? @kez001uk
@saco oh I wish! I’m already dreading the watering starting up again 🙈😂 I’m tempted to look into it though, certainly for the smaller pots. Can get overwhelming in the hottest parts of summer

More flowers? 🤔 #pieris
Mines getting these too, they'll flower in the spring
Wow, that's going to be beautiful 💗 I haven't even got buds 🙄
@lesliecole49 I was convinced I’d get more flowers this year but just looked back and this happened around the same time last year 🤦🏻♀️ my memory is horrendous 🤣
@pelly this is a little ahead of usual, maybe a month or so from looking back. Yours is staving off autumn 😛
I thought so too my first year with it then I found that they bud in the fall and carry them through the winter. Mine still didn't bloom last year but after I put it in the ground it did better and bloomed this year.
@gjones I can’t wait 😋 always love seeing this in flower 😍
@lesliecole49 first year I had a rhododendron I thought I was getting early flowers but then found out they just bud early 😂 will be great to see yours in flower after a year without them 😛

Nice one Kerry!💘😍
Your plants, pots and patio all look so clean Kerry, everything in my garden just seems to be mud spattered! 😄
What a beauty. Those flowers! 😍😍😍
Fabulous ❤️
I really like this one Kerry its gorgeous
@cyndi thanks Cyndi 😀
@gjones thanks Katy 😃 hope you’re well ☺️
@ukjohnny thank you John 😄
@ShelleySnyder thanks Shelley 😁
@lilybee the pots are all on gravel so not much mud around thankfully 😜 I try to hide all the bad bits from being photographed 🙈😂
My pleasure!💘😍

They look like those little sherbet pips 😋
Still beautiful.
They are like sweets..😋❤️
Ooh I like this colour of Pieris 💗
Love this colour ❤
This is so different I'm only use to seeing it in white
@sieveheadsarah they do! 😋 haven’t had them for years. Love a retro sweet 😂
@novicegardenlover thank you Susan 😀
@wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom not sure they’d taste quite as good as they look though 😝
@pixierose thank you Christine 😃 was a cheap one from Tesco last May. Just wish I knew the variety 😜
@anges thanks Ange 😄 the little flowers become more two tone as they age 🤍❤️

Little red bells, so pretty.
Those are so pretty & make me feel like eating cherries!
🤔 they do look good enough to eat! #lookgoodenoughtoeat 💘😍
@DeborahBanks thanks Deborah 😀 first time I’ve seen it at this stage and love the colours 😍
@novicegardenlover thank Susan 😃 if only they were cherries 😋 the whole thing is smothered in buds ❤️
@ShelleySnyder I agree 😋 but I’ll let someone else volunteer to try one 😉😂🤣

Gorgeous colour 😊🙏🏼
Yours is very colourful 😍

Loven the deep colour

I like this variety better than the ones I see locally. 😊👍 I was actually just sitting and thinking if I could add one to my garden but I think it would clash with my pink, purple and blue colour scheme.
@ublaszko it is a little different from the typical ones you see. Was just a cheap thing from Tesco too 😂 it’s a shame but the red wouldn’t fit so well, especially the bright new growth 😜
That's what I was thinking. I like variegated pieris but the red new shoots would clash with my muscari 😜
@ublaszko 😍 your endless muscari 🤤 has it made an appearance yet?
I can see flowerbuds on a couple of varieties and hopefully the rest will catch up in a few weeks. I tried to separate colours in different pots so we will see if it worked 😂😂
@ublaszko I remember you marked them all last year 😛 looking forward to seeing them all again 😋
Me too 😊

Looks very healthy Kerry....
That's a lovely one 😊😊💚💚
@wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom thanks Elaine 😁 can’t wait til it blooms again 😋
@midnightgardener thank you Christine ☺️
They love acid soil and I haven’t got that so mine struggles..
@wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom oh I didn’t know they liked acid 🙈 just potted it up in regular compost 😜
It will survive but won’t flourish....I’d change it cos it’s too nice....
@wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom I’ll definitely do that now I know. Thank you 🙏🏻👍🏻

About to flower??
Maybe it's setting buds for next spring. My rhododendron is starting to set flowerbuds now but they won't open until next spring.
Mine is doing the same thing Kerry. It's in a pot and for some reason the buds have not made it thru a winter yet even tho I bring it on the deck and protect it for the winter.
Just checked mine & can't see any flower buds, just some new red leaves starting again 🤔
@ublaszko I hope so 😛 some strange going’s on in my garden. Had a flower open on my dwarf rhododendron a couple days ago 🤣 chrysanthemums are in bloom already 🙈 still haven’t learned about what does what when 😂
@lesliecole49 oh that’s good to know, although not so good about the buds big going through winter 😜 wonder if I should bring it in the greenhouse before the frosts 🤔
😂😂 And I saw a bleeding heart in flower today! 😲
@jeatacake that’s the best bit though, the red leaves ❤️
@ublaszko 🤯 what is going on with the world 🤪
Looks so healthy compared to mine @kez001uk
@phyl1978 thank you Phyllis 😁 it’s a fairly new plant so I’ve not had much chance to ruin it yet 🤣
You'd be better off talking to someone in your area about pieris and their buds. I know they'll grow here, they are common-ish but they are in the ground and mine's in a pot so I bring it under cover to keep the roots from freezing. I'm wondering if I should just leave it where it is. I really ought to decide where it should go and plant the darn thing!

@ShelleySnyder I’d never even seen one until this app 🙈 it’s a little bit lovely isn’t it 😁
Yes it is a little bit lovely indeed!!💘😍
I feel in love with them on this app too
Wow so cute
They're so lovely close up 💗
I like this pieris. Different flowers to the usual white ones 👌
Lovely flowers💜
Beautiful 😍😍

Loaded this year ❤️🤍 #pieris
Love the flowers on the Pieris. They are so cute 😍😍
@hkyfvr like tiny dresses ☺️ the winter seems to have improved this so might need a couple more 🤭
Great idea. I have the one I planted last summer but not sure if it will bloom. 🤷♀️
@hkyfvr they set their flowers in autumn/winter I think so you may have another year to wait 😫
Oh well. It looks like some red leaves may be growing. Hard to tell yet. 🤞🤞
Amazing 💕💕♥️♥️
@hkyfvr the leaves are as impressive as the flowers anyway 🤩
@midnightgardener thank you Chris 😀
They really are. Thanks Kerry. ♥️
